Energy Awareness for Green Buildings: How We Can Make Green Buildings Greener Mountaineer Section On Thursday, July 28th 2005, members from the Bluegrass chapter of ASHRAE (Ganeson Kandasamy – President, Chris Tyler – Mountaineer Section liaison) and the ASHRAE region VII Director and Region Chair, Art Hallstrom, traveled to Nitro, West Virginia to meet with local ASHRAE members. Attendees from the local area included Dan Nolte, Nadeem Khan, Mike Burdette, Ron King, Scott Sanders and John Providenti. The group discussed the pros and cons of forming a new section under the umbrella of the Bluegrass Chapter. After obtaining twelve signatures on the petition (a minimum of ten signatures is required), the Mountaineer group has officially petitioned to become a section of the Bluegrass Chapter. The Society Board of Governors will confirm this petition at the upcoming winter meeting in Chicago. Nadeem Khan is the new president and Dan Nolte is the new president-elect. Additional officers will be elected in the upcoming months. Congratulations!
